M-DCPS/UTD Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation
The M-DCPS/UTD Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation, established by contract agreement in 1994 to consider revisions to the Teacher Assessment and Development System (TADS), began initial discussions for the development of the Professional Assessment and ComprehensiveEvaluation System (PACES) during 1996-97. PACES was field tested and piloted from 1997-2001; full implementation began in 2001. At its June 14, 2006 meeting, the School Board approved the pilot implementation of the Instructional Performance Evaluation and Growth System (IPEGS). Thirty-one schools were piloted in 2006-07, fifteen for 2007-08, and for 2008-09 ninety-five additional schools will implement IPEGS.
